Coronavirus Updates

July 16, 2020

In light of recent events regarding COVID-19, the elders of FCBC believe that it would be best to hold service outside for the next few weeks on the grass area in front of the church building. This gives us the ability to live as the church, which is not a building, and to demonstrate to our community love and respect as we seek to serve and show we are doing our part.

This coming Sunday (19th), the service will begin at our normal time 10:45am. We are aware that the temperatures are expected to be triple digit that day and so we will have a shorter service to help us beat the heat. The following Sunday services (26th & 2nd) will begin earlier at 9am to help us with the summer temperatures so that we can have a more comfortable time worshiping. We are asking everyone to dress cool, which means shorts and sandals are encouraged. We will have umbrellas up, as well as, some popups to provide shade, and plenty of water will be available. Also, to help with the setup and tear down, if you are able and willing please bring your own lawn chair. Otherwise we will have chairs ready to go.

Dr. Bob will not be holding his Sunday Class until further notice.

We know that many of our church family will continue to participate in worship through our live stream. We will do our best to make sure that continues to go forward. Finding connection together is important to each of us. I know these are different times that we’re living in, but God is sovereign over all.

Be encouraged brothers and sisters. We are together the body of Christ and the temple of the Holy Spirit. When we assemble in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, whether physically together or separate, we enjoy God’s special presence and are reminded that His love for us abides forever!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Dear FCBC Family,

In light of the new information coming from our Governor, the leadership of FCBC is abiding by the “shelter in place” order given last night.

Our plan for now (which seems to change moment by moment) is to have the sermon pre-recorded and made available Sunday mornings by 10:30am. You can access the prerecorded sermon through our church website or Facebook page as usual. As far as music, David will record a few worship songs each week to help us connect as a body of believers.

This is a time to stay connected as we become a “scattered” church. Please reach out to the leadership, as well as others with any prayer requests or physical needs, especially related to the COVID-19 crisis. I know this may be affecting many of us financially. So, please email the elders or my-self with any of these needs. We will also get the public requests sent to our prayer team. Also, I will be making phone calls through this “shelter in place” quarantine to check on you and your family.

As your shepherd, I want to make sure that all our families are cared for spiritually and physically. Please take advantage of this time apart to develop new habits of Bible study. I encourage you to spend time reading the bible together with your family. I pray this is only a short-time and that we can be together again soon. My family and I will be lifting each of you in prayer and we covet your prayers too.

We will miss our FCBC family dearly!

Your servant,

Pastor Tyson
